We were invited to develop the property identity and branding as part of the rehabilitation and reopening of a historical landmark building that would be transformed into an upscale boutique hotel.
The Vandivort was originally built in 1906 as a Masonic Temple with the building housing the local chapter for more than 75 years. We explored Masonic lore and wove it into everything a guest would experience, starting with the main identity. The solution was as simple as it is iconic: The V letter form carves a silhouette of a plumb bob from negative space, an ancient engineering tool and Masonic symbol for ”Truth + Virtue.”
Hotel Vandivort has earned a loyal following and continued to grow its reputation as an Ozarks destination among visitors and locals alike. Within the first year of operation, the hotel was named 2016 Boutique Hotel of the Year and received a Four Diamond rating from AAA.
